Trimming the Tree

Was all ready to decorate the tree and both camera batteries were dead, so I had the kids at least hold off on the candy canes until the camera was ready!

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

We actually got a taste of winter down here in TX. Heard reports of actual snow in some areas but here we just saw it spit the tiniest amount of flakes possible. Had to really look close to even see it in the sky. Had a hard frost last night though so the yard was white and kids couldn't wait to finish breakfast and go explore it all.

Also I made time to scrap today, which involved allowing Cali to scrap across from me and putting a movie on the computer for D. Pretty quick layout since I already had the pictures printed, the sketch chosen and everything arranged before they actually came into the office. This is sketch #19 from 52 Sketches... 52 Weeks

Outtakes

Although I find these all quite adorable, they are not the "one". Notice I forgot to remove Cali's Transformers tattoo, their inability to sit still (of course!), and my unfortunate lack of focus on the last one.

Dear Santa...

I'm not sure if its some kind of "stage fright" or what but after Cali finally got excited about Santa last year I can't understand why she doesn't want to sit in his lap and won't speak to him this year. The one thing she did say to him was... "My brother wants Transformers. Lots of Transformers. He wants one-hundred-and-fifty-two Transformers." Then didn't have any response when asked what she wanted. Later she said "the only thing I could think of to tell Santa was babydolls." I told her that would be ok to tell him, but again today she did not want to talk to him and I barely got her to comply for this picture. Oh well, I'm sure Santa will surprise her quite nicely on the big day anyway. I told her today maybe Santa already knows what she wants and she agreed with that.

Busy Busy

I'm still here, just busy busy trying to catch up and keep up and do 50 things per day. Got my boxes mailed off today to distant relatives. Got Cali's Christmas dress (with matching one for baby!) and a nice sweater for D. Helped the kids buy and wrap a small gift for each other. Visited with friends. Made a pot of Turkey Soup. Have laundry to fold, more to wash, need to vacuum, need to exercise, need to look at all the kid's gifts and make sure I'm all done (I should be!), need to clean up dining room and tomorrow get into the attic for tree and decorations.... that's really just a start. Would really like to find some time to scrapbook, but we shall see. I hope everyone else is enjoying the season so far and staying healthy! I've also been taking care of Cali whom I took to ER last Sunday morning after running temps of 103*, no appetite, and no energy. Doc said it was early stage of pneumonia so she's been on antibiotics and feeling much better. Will be back to blog when I can find a spare minute or just need a break from everything else!

Thanksgiving Day

Tried to keep the kids busy with crafts so we could get things done in the kitchen. Found this cute headband idea at No Time For Flashcards. Lots of good food and friends and noise(!) with 5 kids under 5. I couldn't help but think one day in the future Thanksgiving won't be so loud and hectic and we'll look back and wonder how we even did it when the kids were all still little. Check out this video just to give you an idea what I'm talking about...
