Corn

On a cob of corn there are the same number of silk strands as there are kernels. Anyone care to count? It has to do with plant anatomy, the kernels and silk strands come from the female reproductive part of the corn plant. I could probably explain this better if I remembered anything from my college botany classes. Anyway, got this tidbit from my favorite parenting magazine: Wondertime (love it, click to see their website). It has a strong focus on just family time, simple pleasures, and the great outdoors. Its not so much about what latest gadgets to buy (although there is a little of that) or "how" to parent.
