According to Lucas Miller, the Singing Zoologist, the quills of a Crested Porcupine of Africa can grow up to 2 ft long. The Porcupines that live in TX have quills about the size of your thumb. Dang it...I was hoping to catch Lucas Miller again this summer. Zane saw him last summer and still talks about him and his hippo puppet. Oh well, maybe next year.
