After wearing everyone out with a morning run and a long stay at the spray park I was resting on the couch watching something about America's most haunted houses. This one was really interesting, its called the Winchester Mystery house and was conceived, planned, and overseen by Miss Sarah Winchester (of Winchester rifles, yes). It was built over a 38 year period and construction only ended when she died. It was built specifically to attract spirits and has so many oddities among its intricately crafted walls you just have to see it for yourself... click here for the website.
On the same show I also learned some of the history of the Queen Mary which was very interesting since I've seen it several times during our visits to the OC area but we've never visited it. It too is said to be very haunted and they recently added a new Hauntings tour that takes visitors into parts of the ship that have never before been open to the public. Sounds like something to check out next time the kids are with the grandparents. Click here for their website.
